Bref retour en arrière: fin 2015, Hifiklub enregistre un album et tourne à New York un film en compagnie de Lee Ranaldo. A l’occasion d’un vernissage, le guitariste de Sonic Youth présente le groupe toulonnais à Roddy Bottum, notamment pianiste-fondateur de Faith no More. Les échanges font apparaître des intérêts communs pour l’art, l’expérimentation sonore, la performance, la poésie ou encore la composition contemporaine. Rapidement, l’idée d’un projet réalisé en commun émerge. Quelques semaines après, une première occasion de collaborer se présente suite à une sollicitation dans le cadre d’un hommage à la poétesse Emilie Dickinson.

Hifiklub et Roddy Bottum participent ainsi à Looking for Emily, adaptation transversale d’une sélection libre et subjective de poèmes d’Emily Dickinson, choisis initialement pour leur potentialité rythmique et musicale. It Was Not Death, For I Stood Up sera le poème retenu.
